I was proud to represent Australia. Here are my submissions.
AUS v CHI: Our first match of Brasil 2014. Although ultimately going down 3-1, Timmy Cahill's forehead, as always, gave us hope for a result.
AUS v NED: After destroying reigning world champions Spain 5-1, The Nederlands looked a mighty force. They were expecting to continue their domination but we gave them a good scare and produced one of the goals of the tournament. Not Cahill's forehead this time but a superb volley from outside the box.
AUS v ESP: By this stage both Spain and Australia had their return tickets stamped but the current cup holders showed their class and despatched us efficiently 3-0. Despite the early exit I, like many Australians, am optimistic about the future of Australian football. Some new young stars shone brightly over the three games. With limited preparation time Ange Postecoglou had the lads playing a more expressive attacking style of football. The only way is up, baby.
Hindisght has me liking this more minimal alt for the AUS v CHI match
